Wellness, Culture, and Belly Dance with ‘Tea and Taqsim’

At the heart of my belly dance classes is a mission to empower women through movement, mindfulness, and community. Whether you're joining me for a weekly session or a special event, my goal is to create a space where women can connect with their bodies, find clarity, and experience a deeper sense of wellness. That’s why I’m so excited to introduce my newest offering: Tea and Taqsim: A Mindful Belly Dance Class – a cultural and sensory journey through dance and the art of tea.

What is Tea and Taqsim?

This special edition of my Mindful Belly Dance classes is a unique experience that combines the soulful art of belly dance with the rich flavors of tea and traditional Arabic music. During the class, you’ll enjoy two handcrafted tea blends – A cinnamon-based blend, paired with the deep tones of the instrument called the Oud, and a Peppermint-based blend paired with the delicate notes of the instrument called the Qanun.

As we move and sway, the tea and music will come together, helping you tune into your body and the cultural roots of belly dance. It's a chance to slow down, savor the moment, and connect with yourself in a new way.

Why Tea?

My passion for tea started when I was very young. My Mom was a member of a Costa Rican women’s only charity and every month, they would host beautiful tea parties to raise money for various causes. I LOVED when she hosted at our home. Her tea parties were elaborate, decorative and lively with laughter and strong feminine energy. In time, I wanted to build something like this for my dance community, and at least with Tea and Taqsim, I can start.

Why Join This Class?

Beyond the teas and music, Mindful Belly Dance is centered around wellness and healing through movement, focusing more on the personal experience of belly dance rather than from a place of technique. My classes are designed for women who want to nurture their bodies and minds, find a sense of peace, and embrace the art of belly dance as a path to self-discovery. Whether you’re a regular dancer or new to belly dance, this class offers a welcoming and enriching space to explore.

If you’ve been looking for a way to unwind, de-stress, and feel more connected to your body, this is the perfect class for you. Plus, you’ll leave with more than just a new dance move—you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty of Middle Eastern music, culture, and wellness practices.
